Dear Parishioners and Friends,
This past week has been busy here at Our Lady’s Parish with a lot to report in our restoration project.
Progress on the roof of our church complex has been steady. The shingles above the church’s Apse (the area above the Altar) were removed and after waterproofing, a metal sheet similar to that of the porte-cochere will be installed and painted the same red color as the dome.
The new double pane skylight that was custom made for our Narthex has arrived and was installed on Thursday replacing the 25-year old skylight with a state-of-the-art model.
Already, we are seeing positive results in the church, chapel, and narthex with improved insulation and significant savings on our electric bills.
Freetail Roofing began working on the Julia J. Sawyer Event Center’s roof on Monday. After applying flute filler insulation to fill the spaces between the ribs in the metal panels, 3inches of insulation will be installed, and it will be followed by the final installation of the TPO roof. The old gutters have been removed and will be replaced with commercial grade gutters.
We are currently at $126,983 or 63.47% of our $200,000 goal in our “Raise the Roof” online campaign. We thank all those who have taken part in this online campaign and we invite those who haven’t made their gift yet to join us in this endeavor and help finance this major needed project.
Together, through your generosity, we change lives, do God’s work and preserve the beauty of Our Lady’s Parish. Let us "raise our hands to this good work… ". Make a gift today!
Chorbishop Don J. Sawyer, D. Min.
