Dear Parishioners and Friends,

Witnessing how the restoration of our dome has unfolded from the time we started 4 months ago till now has surely kept all of us on our toes trying to anticipate anything throughout the process but it is so exciting to see the end result. After having the dome stripped of its original protective skin and aged insulation, 2 layers of new insulation were applied and waterproofed, then the ribs were added for aesthetic purposes, the dome received a fresh acrylic coat of red paint which we were told will be guaranteed for another 20 years.

The small dome, porte-cochere, and walkway have been painted and the roof on the Apse (the Altar area) will be replaced to match the dome roof. We are anticipating the arrival of the new skylight and its installation which will add aesthetic beauty and higher insulation value to our inviting Narthex.

With the work on our church complex nearing its completion and while we are preparing to start the work on The Julia J. Sawyer Event Center roof, we are currently standing at $124,653 out of our $200,000 goal in the “Raise the Roof” online campaign, which is about $75,000 from our goal and we need everyone’s help.

While we are trying to stay away from taking a loan to cover the expenses of fixing the roof of our church complex and the Sawyer Event Center roof, it looks like we will have to use money allocated for our day to day operations. Your support is greatly appreciated in helping us reach our goal without having to do so.
