Dear Parishioners and Friends,
The uncovering of rotted decking in our roof area has stalled the work progress with much time and labor being spent in repairing and replacing the rotted decking on the roof around the bell tower, above the narthex, Chapel, work sacristy, reconciliation room and cry room Those areas now have received two coats of insulating foam roofing.
The work on our dome and church complex roof is progressing. The dome itself has received two layers of insulation foam. Workers installed ribs on the dome which is more for aesthetics than function. Once finished, the dome will receive two coats of rich red acrylic paint to match the original color. It should be very beautiful.
Later will come the cleaning and repainting of the Porte cochere, the covered roof which provides protection from the rain.
We anticipate work on the Julia J. Sawyer Event Center to begin next month.
Our “Raise the Roof “ fundraiser event was established to raise $200,000 to help offset the cost not covered by our insurance.
Together, through your generosity, we change lives, do God’s work and preserve the beauty of Our Lady’s Parish. Let us "raise our hands to this good work… ". Make a gift today!
Chorbishop Don J. Sawyer, D. Min.
