Dear Parishioners and Friends,
 
The work on our church dome started this past Tuesday with the crucial phase in our project by cutting into the dome membrane and revealing the underlying conditions as well as the anticipated challenges we are facing in restoring the dome to its former integrity and beauty. 
 
Not coming as a big surprise to us, the cutting into the dome membrane unveiled substantial damage from water retained below the cross at the highest point of our dome posing potential risks for structural integrity and safety as well as a high risk to our beautiful imagery in the interior of the dome.  Please refer to the attached picture for all damages sustained by our dome.
 
Last week, we launched the “Raise the  Roof “ fundraiser to raise $200,000 to help offset the cost not covered by our insurance.  We are currently at $825 or 0.4125% of our goal.
